About this Research Topic
This Research Topic will focus on advanced studies in hydrodynamics and dynamics of offshore renewable energy devices, mooring systems and dynamic cables and how these interact with the surrounding marine environment and fauna. The Research Topic will also welcome papers related to the wider scope of marine renewable technologies, as an ocean-based climate solution. This includes the evolution of these technologies, as multi-purpose systems that can be utilized in carbon sequestration, food production, marine monitoring etc.
High-quality papers related to topics indicated below are encouraged:
· Hydrodynamics of offshore renewable energy devices
· Aerodynamics of floating wind turbine
· Marine species interactions with offshore energy devices
· Mooring and anchor system design and analysis
· Dynamic cable design and analysis
· Evolution of offshore renewable technologies as a climate-based solution
· Fluid-structure interactions
· Structural responses and reliability analysis
· Extreme load and fatigue damage analysis
Keywords: offshore renewable energy devices, renewable marine energy, climate-based solutions, fatigue damage analysis, fluid-structure interactions, dynamic cable design
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
