Broadmann described a first map of the human brain 100 years ago. A number of technological advances in both imaging, cell biology and genetics have made since, allowing for an integrated analysis of the molecular and cellular architecture of brain, in particular human brain. Such an integrated analysis will be essential to understand structure-function relationships and develop structural and functional networks.
This Research Topic will bring together contributions from leading experts in the human brain mapping field and highlight progress and challenges.

All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
