About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to collect contributions highlighting the central role of sex steroid hormones and/or sex steroid hormone receptors in the heart, and their potential as therapeutic targets in cardiovascular disease. It is intended to highlight recent advances in the field, whilst emphasizing important directions and new possibilities for future inquiries. We anticipate the research presented will promote discussion in the Endocrinology community that will translate to best practice applications in clinical, public health, and policy settings.
We welcome original articles, mini or systematic review papers. New articles will be added to this collection as they are published.
