About this Research Topic
However, research studies on these fields are still limited; especially the fundamental mechanisms for achieving excellent low carbon emissions and carbonation fixation in building materials are yet to be well understood. Besides, the physical and chemical properties of these materials and their industrial application need be further investigated.
This Research Topic is focusing on recent progress, investigations, and new findings on the material design, physio-chemical properties and mechanisms of building related materials with low CO2 emissions, and high carbonation fixation.
Articles from Original Research or Review are all welcome. The topics are not limited to:
1) Recycled building related materials
2) CO2 fixation in building materials
3) Non-Portland cement systems, such as LC3
4) Green additives in building related materials
5) Low-carbon building materials
6) Green and sustainable concrete pavements
7) Green additive manufacturing of advanced materials
8) Mechanical properties and multiscale simulation of eco-friendly structure materials
Keywords: building materials, low carbon emissions, carbon fixation, sustainable materials, additive manufacturing, advanced structural materials, Recycled Materials
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
