The International Society for Biosafety Research (ISBR) organizes the bi-annual International Symposium on the Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms (ISBGMO). ISBGMO 13 will take place in Cape Town, South Africa from November 9th-13th. This meeting represents the premier scientific conference for academic, government and private sector scientists working on the science of environmental risk assessment (ERA) for genetically engineered plants, animals and microorganisms. This Research Topic in Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms will provide a forum for publications resulting from the symposium. Articles in the Topic will include thought pieces on future research needs for biosafety, research results, and discussion of the current ERA paradigm and its application to new and emerging applications of genetic engineering.
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
