About this Research Topic
This research topic aims to establish EIT as a respiratory monitoring modality in veterinary medicine.
The topic should not only show that EIT can be used in a variety of species but should also expand our knowledge in respiratory pathology in animals using EIT as a monitoring technology.
Research articles, case reports and scoping reviews on the topic of electrical impedance tomography will be included in this research topic.
The main areas to be included, but not exclusively limited to are:
- EIT to monitor ventilation and perfusion during anesthesia in animals
- EIT as respiratory function monitor in awake animals
- EIT to measure ventilation under field conditions in animals
- The technical development of EIT in veterinary medicine
- New approaches of the use of EIT in veterinary medicine
Keywords: lung ventilation, distribution of ventilation, pulmonary disease, respiratory monitoring, lung imaging, comparative respiratory physiology, respiratory pathology
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
