About this Research Topic
Tissue engineering is an interdisciplinary field representing the new concept of tissue regeneration with the support of biomaterials and growth factors. Although the last decade has seen enormous progress in the field of stem cell research and tissue engineering, the real application to patients is still very limited. For the advances of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine some critical problems still need to be addressed and resolved. In this respect a close collaboration between medical doctors and scientist working in the field of stem cell biology and biomaterials could definitely help to reinforce the real applicability of regenerative therapy to patients.
The Research Topic aims to cover the latest outstanding developments in the field of regenerative medicine and promote the integration of Stem cells Research, Technology and Engineering Research.
We welcome Original Research, Review, Mini Review and Brief Research Report articles that focus on, but not limited to:
• Latest advances in stem cell-derived Organoids
• Generation of 3D scaffolds for cell growth and proliferation
• Generation of advanced preclinical models for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine
• New discovery of signaling pathways and growth factors with significant impact on the development of 3D culture systems
