About this Research Topic
The problem to be addressed in this Research Topic is the incorporation of novel architectures that can be utilized in interconnected autonomous, surveillance and robotic systems. Their deployment requires a large amount of data from various sensors, such as lidar and cameras, including multispectral ones. The goal of the Research Topic is to cover promising and novel research in the field of surveillance in agriculture, pedestrian detection, as well as monitoring targets of interest which can be performed by systems ranging from single camera systems to a large array of distributed cameras used in conjunction with AI for higher accuracy.
We welcome contributions in the form of Original Research articles, Reviews, and Methods. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Image and Video Processing for Surveillance
• Recent developments in image and video surveillance and application of AI techniques for security surveillance
• Recent developments in crop surveillance and large plant monitoring and surveillance
Autonomous Navigation and Decision
• Use of AI systems for drones (UAV or UGV) for security tracking and monitoring
• Use of AI systems for drone agriculture monitoring
• Use of AI systems for drone (UAV and UGV) autonomous navigation where the data from sensors (on the drone and non-connected sensors) are incorporated
Autonomous Surveillance Systems
• Integration of drones with video surveillance systems to ensure human detection or continuous tracking
• Use of AI for autonomous and distributed drone surveillance system for tracking the target
