About this Research Topic
This research topic is intended to address detection technologies and micro/nano biodevices for medical and biological applications such as detection/measurement of biological substances (tissue, living cells, proteins, DNA/RNA, exosomes, etc.) and pathogens, separation/extraction of their substances, handling of cells/biological particles and so forth. For this purpose, we would like to welcome contributors that tackle the development of new detection technologies and use the micro/nano biodevices for medical and biological applications.
Papers presented to this Research Topic are expected to be linked to the following fields of research:
-Detection technologies (fluorescence, super-resolution microscopy, Raman, electrochemistry, SPR, OCT, quantum dots, etc.) for living cells.
-Detection technologies for biological substances and pathogens
-Microfluidic devices for biomarker and pathogen detection.
-Nanofluidic devices for DNA/RNA analysis.
-Rare substances (circulating tumor cells, proteins, miRNA, methylated DNA, etc.) detection using micro/nano biodevices.
-In vivo or In vitro cell-based assay using microfluidic devices.
-Paper based devices for global health.
-Portable diagnostic chip for point-of-care testing.
-Bioassay using nanoparticles on microfluidic devices.
-Single molecule measurement technologies (magnetic tweezers, optical tweezers, AFM, etc.)
-Instrumentation (automation, miniaturization, etc.) of detection apparatus for medical and biological applications
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
