Technological advances in brain imaging, genetics, and computational modeling have set the stage for novel insights into the cognitive neuroscience of human development during childhood and adolescence. As the field has expanded, research in this area increasingly incorporates highly interdisciplinary approaches utilizing sophisticated imaging, behavioral, and genetic methodologies to map brain, cognitive, and affective/social development. The articles in this Research Topic will highlight both the recent advances and future challenges inherent in this burgeoning interdisciplinary field. We seek to gather both review articles and original research reports that consider any of the broad spectrum of topics within the field of developmental cognitive neuroscience.
Important Note:
All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
