About this Research Topic
We will gladly consider original researches, reviews, and mini reviews covering the topic about stem cell (including embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, endothelial progenitor cells, etc.), or stem cells secretome for kidney diseases for the purpose of regenerating kidney and repairing kidney function.
We welcome topics including but are not limited to the following:
• The role of stem cells in kidney regenerative medicine either in differentiation or paracrine effect in particular kidney cell component or organ as a whole (either in vivo or in vitro).
• Microenvironment or mechanism of the stem cell variability, proliferation, differentiation and function restoration after injury.
• Stem cell tissue engineering on kidney organ construction or organoid.
• Bioinformatics application of stem cell studies on kidney diseases. (Please note: The findings based on data integration should be also validated by observational/experimental data. Descriptive studies and studies consisting solely of bioinformatic investigation of publicly available genomic/transcriptomic data do not fall within the scope of the journal)
• Stem cell-based therapeutic strategies and mechanism for the kidney function recovery, as well as the translational research or clinical trials.
For review articles, we prefer to have a more unique perspective rather than a summary of previous research.
