Pulmonary vein isolation by catheter ablation is the current gold standard of invasive atrial fibrillation treatment. However, even with persistently isolated pulmonary veins, atrial fibrillation might recur. Currently, there are different ablation strategies to treat those "PVI-non responders" available but no standard has been established up to date.
This Research Topic encourages authors to submit their research focusing on ablation strategies additionally to pulmonary vein isolation.
Keywords:
Pulmonary vein isolation, Catheter ablation, Cryobaloon, Radiofrequency
