About this Research Topic
This Research Topic is mainly focused on the exploration of the chemosensitizing roles of natural products in overcoming the chemoresistance of cancer cells. This Topic aims at the studies related to the use of natural products in combination with other chemo or immunotherapeutic drugs to therapeutic limitations related to resistance. The purpose is to give more emphasis on the molecular targets and mechanistic effects of natural products in combating cancers by overcoming chemoresistance and other developed resistance. The overall goal is to discuss the latest advances made in the derivation of therapeutics from the natural products at clinical, in vivo, and in vitro level research.
We invite authors to submit original research articles, reviews, opinion, and methodologies focused on (but not limited to) the following areas are encouraged:
- Investigations relevant to the chemosensitizing effect of the natural products against cancers (active natural compounds, medicinal plant extracts, synergistic study with other drugs).
- Research with an emphasis on the mechanism of action and identification of molecular targets of natural products important for the chemosensitizing activity of natural products against cancers.
- Studies on the chemosensitizing effect of natural products in immunomodulation and/or immunotherapy against cancers.
- Randomized clinical trials that support the efficacy and application of natural products either singly or in combination with other drugs.
Keywords: Natural products, Cancer, Chemosensitization, Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
