About this Research Topic
The use of pharmacological and toxicological approaches on different developmental stages of zebrafish is relevant to deepen the knowledge of drugs and toxicants mechanisms. This subject offers updated insights from researchers from around the world on zebrafish as a model of translational pharmacology and toxicology. This topic offers original research articles reporting relevant pharmacological and toxicological data obtained by using zebrafish as a model. Articles reporting the development of new methods or protocols to investigate drugs and toxicants in zebrafish are also offered.
This Research Topic aims to gather studies that take advantage of the zebrafish model to explore its use as a tool for pharmacological and toxicological research. We encourage submissions of all article types falling under, but are not limited to the following topics:
- The evaluation of drugs and environmental pollutant-induced toxicity
- Behavioral assessment of drugs and toxicants using zebrafish model
- Zebrafish models to improve the understanding about disease mechanisms and new pharmacological approaches
- Mechanism of action of drugs and toxicants
- Impacts of drugs and contaminants exposure on the biochemical, behavioral and morphological parameters
- Toxicological and pharmacological approaches in different developmental stages of zebrafish
Keywords: Drug Discovery; Toxicity; Behavior; Development; High-throughput Screening
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
