About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to gather a collection of basic Review articles and Original Research articles on COVID-19-associated skin manifestations and COVID-19 vaccine-related cutaneous reactions in order to (i) provide an update on epidemiological and clinical features of these conditions; (ii) promote improved understanding of their physiopathological basis; (iii) identify possible correlations between the extent of skin manifestations and COVID-19 severity, and (iv) pave the way to a pathogenesis-driven therapeutic approach.
In this Research Topic, we welcome the submission of Reviews, Mini-Revies, Original Research Articles, Case Series, and Case Reports that cover the following topics on COVID-19-associated skin manifestations and COVID-19 vaccine-related cutaneous reactions:
• Genetics
• Role of immune cells and cytokines
• Autoinflammation and COVID-19-associated skin manifestations
• Urticarial rash
• Confluent erythematous-maculopapular-morbilliform rash
• Papulovesicular exanthem
• Chilblain-like acral pattern
• Livedo reticularis-livedo racemosa-like pattern
• Purpuric 'vasculitic' pattern
• Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C)
• Telogen effluvium
• COVID-19 vaccine-related skin reactions
• New therapeutic approaches
