About this Research Topic
Apart from local tumor ablation, IRE can enhance both local and systemic control of diseases through priming or boosting immune response specifically against tumor, while the corresponding molecular mechanisms need to be fully investigated.
As a novel and effective method for LAPC, IRE is worthy of more insights on the clinical effect and immune changes in the treatment of LAPC, as well as more clinical and basic research to further illustrate on fundamental role of IRE.
The goal of this Research Topic is to highlight the current and future role that IRE plays as a fundamental therapeutic approach to LAPC, and to enhance considerations for the immune and physiochemical changes induced by IRE in the treatment of LAPC.
We welcome submissions of Review, Mini-Review and Original Research articles covering, but not limited to, the following topics:
• Design of clinical studies for tumor treatment with IRE
• Application of IRE in enhancing drug accumulation in pancreatic cancer
• Improvement or innovation of technique in designing electroporation
• Analysis of immune and physiochemical molecular changes caused by IRE
• Construction of clinical guidelines on the treatment of LAPC with IRE
Please note: manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics or computational analysis of public genomic or transcriptomic databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent cohort or biological validation in vitro or in vivo) are out of scope for this section and will not be accepted as part of this Research Topic.
Keywords: Pancreatic cancer, irreversible electroporation, Nano Knife, immune, prognosis
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
