About this Research Topic
Parasitic diseases pose one of the greatest threats to human health in topical areas and are, unfortunately, often linked to poverty, poor living conditions, malnutrition and HIV/AIDS. In an effort to address this pressing global health issue, prospective authors are invited to contribute original research articles as well as critical reviews for this forthcoming special issue that will contribute to a better understanding of the host-parasite relationship.
Considering that some parasites are (re)emerging, while others contribute largely to neglected diseases, we are interested in articles that explore several aspects of tropical parasitic diseases such as parasite evolution, Omics, climate change, clinico-epidemiology in human and animal diseases, geospatial health, geographic information system (GIS), identification of biomarkers for rapid diagnosis, anti-parasitic agents and resistance, vaccine candidates, novel strategies for control of parasites.
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
