We envision that this research topic would cover multiple areas related to the clearance of amyloid-beta (Aβ) in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). This would include proteases as well as other mechanisms like apoE mediated export/endocytosis. We feel that recent genetic and clinical studies have highlighted the importance of Aβ clearance to sporadic AD. We would also welcome manuscripts on the general importance of Aβ to AD pathogenesis, which has come under intense scrutiny in recent years, as the amyloid hypothesis is a prerequisite to the importance of Aβ clearance.
