About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to highlight the latest research results and advances in technologies relevant to the automation of agriculture and farming processes. It will focus on the active implementation of AI-empowered tools and methods, in addition to the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud computing technologies for precision and sustainable farming. Enabling AI into robotic systems is expected to contribute to social good and support the agricultural community across the globe with taking the next leap in turning smart agricultural practice into actionable insights to improve sustainable farming. In this Research Topic, contributions that explore the development and advancement of robotics in Smart Farming are welcome. These include the applications of automatic and robotic systems to assess, evaluate, and control the sustainability of innovative agri-food systems (innovative technologies, digitized operations, and production systems, autonomous systems, etc.). Contributions describing sustainability of integrated farming systems (smart farming concepts connected with robotics and automation) are also welcome.
This Research Topic aims to explore advances in robotics and automation systems for smart farming. Topics of interest for the collection include, but not, limited to the following:
