The already established benefits of telemedicine include cost-savings, patient convenience and decreased travel burden. Currently, telemedicine has become part of our daily burden and COVID- 19 has mandated its use. Moreover, surgical education is under thread during COVID-19 pandemic. As external medical rotations and exchanges have been suspended, several types of education and surgical training are needed to overcome this limitation. Telementoring is a telemedicine technique that involves the remote guidance of a treatment or a procedure where the caregiver has no or limited experience with the featured technique. Further studies are needed to validate and propose telementoring as a novel teaching resource.
