About this Research Topic
These unmet needs have been exacerbated in recent times with continuing global uncertainty, increasing social inequality, the impact of racism and of COVID 19 on communities. TIE helps leaders and teachers understand the impacts of adverse childhood experiences and then proactively work towards effective interventions (in learning, behaviour and socially) in the classroom and across the school.
In this Research Topic, we welcome research and conceptual work on:
-Systemic/policy approaches for enabling TIE;
- Leadership for trauma aware schools;
- Trauma Informed whole school approaches;
- Teacher wellbeing and student well being in a trauma informed environment;
- Trauma informed practice pedagogies and curriculum;
- Trauma informed ITE;
- Best practice for therapeutic interventions in schools.
