About this Research Topic
The synovial membrane (SM) is the target tissue of the joints in patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA). Analysis of the SM has provided valuable insights into our current understanding of pathological processes and treatment responses in IA. Synovial biopsies may be obtained using arthroscopic or imaging techniques, however novel state-of-the-art techniques of SM analyses now allow detailed assessment of cellular and molecular pathways to inform a more complete understanding of the immunopathogenesis and provide a new approach to precision medicine using targeted of biologic therapies.
Accordingly, this Research Topic would like to focus on the following themes for submission:
• Cellular and molecular pathways in synovial tissue
• Fibroblasts Macrophages
• Lymphocytes Cytokines
• Immunometabolism
• Signalling Autoantibodies
Keywords: Synovial Tissue, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Transcriptomics, Cellular function
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
