About this Research Topic
Root Biology never Sleeps! Rooting 2020 and the 11th ISRR meetings were postponed and will now run simultaneously across two timezones on the 24th-28th of May. This Research Topic of Frontiers focuses on the Root Development sessions in both meetings.
We welcome submissions arising from oral and/or poster presentations associated with the root development sessions within these conferences. Submissions are not limited to attendees of these conferences, provided that they fit within the scope of the root development sessions at either the Rooting 2021 or 11th ISRR meetings. We interpret this broadly and are happy to receive manuscripts on both model and non-model organisms.
We accept submissions of Original Research, Review, Mini Review, and Opinion manuscripts related to the above topics. In particular, we welcome articles that combine molecular approaches with other techniques, such as image analysis, mathematic modeling, or work performed in soil on the following themes, but not exclusively:
- Root & root system development
- Root morphogenesis
- Grafted root systems and intra-plant communication
- Hormones and root system architecture
- Modelling of root processes

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
