About this Research Topic
The goal of this Research Topic is to identify appropriate targets in CVD prevention and treatment, the most advanced research information in the field should be gathered and linked/translated to practical (clinical and pathophysiological) questions.
The following themes should be covered:
1) Metabolites as biomarkers for diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.
2) Metabolites as targets in cardiovascular disease prevention and/or treatment.
3) Molecular gaps in metabolic regulations during disease pathogenesis.
4) Approaches profiling metabolomics and metabolites.
5) Metabolic dysregulation in the control of several forms of cardiovascular disease (acute ad chronic).
6) Therapeutics targeting metabolic processes.
7) Metabolic crosstalk between cardiovascular disease and others (such as cardiovascular risk factors).
8) Nutritional approaches aimed to prevent of ameliorate cardiovascular outcome.
Keywords: functional studies, cell and animal models, Cardiovascular disease, Atherosclerotic prevention, Oxidative stress, Metabolomics, Pharmacometabolomics
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
