About this Research Topic
This Research Topic will focus on engineering nucleic acids as functional nanomaterials to perform in the fields of nanomaterials and nanodrugs, and as biomarkers or biomedical imaging to detect biomolecules in vivo or in vitro. The aim of this Research Topic is also to focus on the application of aptamers and ribozymes or non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in cancer diagnosis and therapy research, pharmacological targets.
We welcome Original Research papers, Reviews, Mini-reviews, Theory or Methods papers. Themes of interest include, but are not limited to:
- The construction of DNA secondary structures (DNA duplex, hairpins, triplexes, i-motif, quadruplexes DNA)
- Engineering ncRNA (miRNA, circRNA, IncRNA)
- Engineering DNAzymes and ribozymes
- Genetic reprogramming and protein expression
- Functional nucleic acid-based nano-hydrogels
- Functional DNA origami
- Nanomaterials self-assembled from branched DNA
- Artificial DNA nanodrugs as drug delivery
