About this Research Topic
The objectives of this Research Topic are to document the state-of-the-art in the adoption of these digital technologies in construction management, to compare various perspectives on these digital technologies, and to identify the future directions of research and development. This Research Topic also aims to explore the potential of implementation of these technical paradigms in a real-life project context, including approaches which have been undertaken by academia and industry in dealing with issues, such as the lack of productivity and safety in the construction industry.
All papers to be submitted to this Research Topic should focus on the state-of-the-art research in various aspects of the adoption of digital technologies for construction management from the academic and industry perspectives. Within this scope, the themes of interest include, but are not limited to:
• The state-of-the-art review and future directions of VR, AR, MR, and DT applied to construction management
• As-built modelling approaches of digital twins for construction management
• Digital technologies for construction safety management, infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, and decision-making support
• The Internet of Things (IoT) for construction supply chain management
• Data collection and management approaches to enable digital twin scenarios in construction management
• Digital technologies and human factors in construction management
• The integration of digital technologies for typical and offsite construction project management
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
