About this Research Topic
This Research Topic focuses on the precision medical management of CVDs, especially in the vascular surgery and endovascular therapy fields. The collection is expected to include recent essential advances on the early precision diagnosis, preoperative and prognostic functional evaluation that could contribute to the precision medical management of CVDs. Clinical investigations based on practical issues and fundamental research with excellent translational prospects are welcome. Investigation of the precision medical management of CVDs is expected in (1) development of microcosmic laboratory and translational works for early screening and early (pre-)hospital diagnosis of CVD; (2) development of meso- and macroscopic works on neuroimaging and models for preoperative and prognostic assessment; and (3) development and promotion of personalized surgical techniques and strategies, and clarification of therapeutic indications.
This Research Topic will include, but are not limited to, the following themes:
• Studies use genomic sequencing, single-cell sequencing, and big data analytics to identify biomarkers and pathways that relevant to the occurrence and development of CVDs and provide potential contributions to the precision medical management of CVDs.
• Developing models or tools for the assessment of risks and prognosis of surgical treatment in a precision medicine approach.
• Providing the threshold of surgery or directing the therapeutic strategy from the aspects of functional imaging, radiomics, hemodynamics, angioarchitecture, particularly with the assistance of big data
• Reviewing technical considerations regarding current available personalized surgical treatments and innovative treatment modalities, such as microsurgery, endovascular surgery, radiosurgery, and one-staged or staged multimodality treatment
• Reviewing policy, regulations, and guidelines related to CVD management based on comprehensive literature review generating by academia, relevant societies, regulatory bodies, or industries
Keywords: Cerebrovascular disease, precision medicine, disease management, molecular pathology, neuroimaging
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
