About this Research Topic
Epigenetics and chromatin dynamics play fundamental roles in various aspects of plant biology: regulation of nuclear structure, regulation of gene expression, and silencing of transposable elements, with key functions in determining cell fates and plant development, as well as in response to environmental stimuli and stresses.
The goal of this Research Topic is to report the latest insights into epigenetic and chromatin dynamics in plants in order to provide the most up-to-date review of this research field.
This Research Topic will collect articles related to the following subjects on plant models:
• Epigenetic and chromatin dynamics
• Epigenetic regulation of transposable elements
• Epigenetic regulation in response to the environment
• Epigenetics and non-coding RNAs pathways
• Polycomb and trithorax functions in development
• Epigenetics and chromatin organization in crops
• Transgenerational epigenetic variation
• Epigenetics, ecology and evolution
Contributors are welcome to send Original Research, Methods, and Review articles.
Keywords: plant epigentics, chromatin dynamics, transposable elements, polycomb, non-coding RNA
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
