About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to bring head and neck surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, ENT surgeons, plastic surgeons, and researchers working on virtual surgical planning and medical 3D printing together to push forward the clinical, translational and basic research of this promising new technology.
Submissions are welcome for the following article types: original study, systematic reviews, case series, review, and opinion. We welcome manuscripts that include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
• 1. Basic principle and fundamental workflow of computer assisted surgery, virtual surgical planning and medical 3D printing
• 2. Clinical application of computer assisted surgery, virtual surgical planning and medical 3D printing, especially in head and neck tumor resection and reconstruction
• 3. The use of virtual reality and augmented reality in head and neck oncological and reconstructive surgery
• 4. Limitation and perspective of the new technology
