About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to bring together a collection of outstanding manuscripts, including Original Research, Opinions, and Review papers, covering the current state of forest pathology research. The collection will provide novel insights into forest diseases including, but not limited to, host-pathogen-vector interactions of forest trees under different climatic disturbances, and explore the full complexity of mitigation strategies needed to protect our declining natural resources.
We welcome submissions on the following themes:
• The effect of different climatic disturbances on forest health
• Host defense mechanisms
• Modes of pathogenicity
• Stress-induced secondary compounds
• Host-pathogen-vector interactions
• Mitigation strategies to prevent further spread (i.e. rapid molecular detection, deployment of resistant hosts, assisted migration, pathogen adaptation, biocontrol strategies, and cultural practices)
Keywords: abiotic stress, biotic stress, forest pathology, climate change, plant-vector-host interactions
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
