About this Research Topic
The dramatic acceleration of climate change over the past few years has shown that it is imperative to take actions quickly to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and, hence, to avoid devastating effects on ecosystems and human life. The adoption of renewable energy sources is regarded as an indispensable strategic choice to decarbonize the energy system and guarantee the environmental protection. An immense amount of capital is required to fund the massive transformational projects necessary to boost the transition towards a low-carbon and climate change-resilient economy.
This Research Topic provides a forum for exchanging research ideas and empirical practices that focus on green finance, investment, or lending that consider environmental effects (e.g., clean stocks and green bonds), renewable and non-renewable energies, and specifically, how the recent outbreak of COVID19 and its resulting restrictions (for travel and business) have changed the investment dynamics in these areas.
