About this Research Topic
This Research Topic will focus on new principles, designs, and materials for these micro-total analysis systems. Optical and electrochemical (bio)chemical sensors are at the heart of these microTAS. Different domains of applications, including food and environmental control, as well as biomedical applications, will be tackled.
We welcome submissions of Original Research, Review, Mini Review, and Perspective articles, on themes including, but not limited to:
• Development of novel (bio)chemical sensors and sensing materials to be integrated in microTAS
• Applications of sensors with different transduction principles (optical, electrochemical, etc.)
• Development of novel silicon-, polymer- and paper-based microTAS
• Methodology around the integration of (bio)chemical sensors in microsystems
• Innovative design of microTAS for food and environmental control, as well as biomedical applications
• Novel design of point-of-care microTAS diagnostic tools
• Novel design of lab-on-a-chip including optical or electrochemical (bio)chemical sensors
Keywords: Optical (bio)chemical sensors, Electrochemical (bio)chemical sensors, microTAS, point-of-care, lab-on-a-chip
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
