About this Research Topic
The aim of this research topic is to review the current knowledge and the recent advances on the role of serpins with and without antiprotease activities in cardiovascular diseases and their treatment, in particular regarding their role played in the interactions between coagulation factors- inflammatory- and vascular cells.
The scope of the Research Topic and specific themes for authors to address include:
1) Serpins in thrombosis and homeostasis.
2) Artificial serpins with therapeutic usefulness.
3) Serpins and apoptotic and inflammatory vascular responses.
4) Viral serpins and cardiovascular diseases.
5) Oxidative stress, lipids and serpins.
All types of article types will be considered for publication: original basic science reports, reviews, methodology papers, and clinical studies.
Keywords: Serpins, Thrombosis, Thrombolysis, Immune responses, Apoptosis
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements.
