About this Research Topic
We welcome submissions from researchers investigating cancer subtypes, markers and phenotypic alteration of cancer stem cells, signal transduction, and genomes in cancer and stem cells. We welcome Original Research, Reviews and other suitable article types focusing on molecular profiling, signaling pathways and protein function in cancer and stem cells. Articles may discuss a variety of cancer phenotypes and targeting cancer stem cells to treat cancer. Contributions should provide novel insights into the mechanism of cancer stem cells and drug resistance, as well as metastasis. The modeling or simulation of the cellular phenotype transition in cancer stem cells, as well as predicting the molecular-induced responses of cancer stem cells may also be included in the collection. The subtopics of this article collection may include:
1) TGFbeta signaling in cancer
2) Origin of cancer stem cells
3) Metastasis of cancer stem cells
4) Genomic profiling of cancer stem cells
5) Protein functional changes in cancer stem cells
6) Targeting cancer stem cells with molecules
7) microRNAs in cancer and stem cells
8) Signal transduction in cancer stem cells
9) Identification of stem cells in cancer
10) Identification of cancer subtypes
11) Gene expression in cancer and stem cells
12) Crosstalk of pathways in cancer and stem cells
Keywords: cancer, stem cell, signal transduction
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
