About this Research Topic
We are delighted to present the 2020 Edition of our Frontiers in Materials “Rising Stars” article collection. This collection showcases the high-quality work of internationally recognized researchers in the early stages of their independent careers.
All Rising Star researchers were individually nominated by our Guest Editors and Chief Editors in recognition of their potential to influence the future directions in their respective fields. This year, we have selected Guest Editors who featured as our Rising Stars in our previous collection. The work presented here highlights the diversity of research performed across the entire breadth of materials science and engineering and presents advances in theory, experiment and methodology with applications to compelling problems.

Contributions to the collection are by invitation only.
