About this Research Topic
This Research Topic is to provide a central venue for researchers with interest in bioactives and nutraceuticals delivery systems. Most articles published will aims to highlight talented achievements in all areas of delivery systems, covering their preparation, fabrication, characterization and applications. Intensive experimental and theoretical investigations on novel nanostructures (nanoemulsion, nanohydrogel, nanocomplex, nanofiber and nanoparticle) designed for various bioactive ingredients have been performed to expand our fundamental understanding on delivery vehicles.
This Research Topic will accept the submission of Original Research, Review and Perspective articles from fundamental research to applied research. Manuscripts need to focus on carrier materials and characterization to be in the scope for this Research Topic. Manuscripts that only cover carrier applications and functionality are not within the scope. Major topics can include, but are not limited to:
• Chemical and process engineering of selected materials applied for bioactive delivery system from natural and sustainable sources
• The structural design of functional delivery vehicles and the fundamental investigation
• The innovative/facile strategies for construction/fabrication carriers with desirable properties
• The physical and chemical characterizations of architectures of bulk phases and interfaces of delivery systems
• The performance assessment in industrial applications, i.e. pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic aspects
• The future challenges and opportunities in novel delivery vehicles
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
