About this Research Topic
This Research Topic aims to provide insight into future directions for membrane technologies by introducing some novel and state-of-the-art membrane separation technologies and applications including, but not limited to, membrane distillation (MD), forward osmosis (FO), pervaporation membranes, catalytic membranes, and organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membrane materials, as well as processes for environmental applications, such as desalination, water treatment, gas separation, and CO2 capture. Original Research articles, as well as Reviews, are welcome.
Potential themes for this Research Topic include, but are not limited to:
• Membrane distillation, forward osmosis, pervaporation membranes, and processes for desalination and water treatment
• Catalytic membranes for environmental pollutant degradation
• Novel membranes and processes for gas separation, including CO2 capture
• Fouling mechanisms and antifouling membranes
• Artificial membrane organs
Keywords: membrane separation, fouling, membrane bioreactor (MBR), water treatment, gas separation
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
