About this Research Topic
This Research Topic will address these questions by focusing on the unmet need for effective delivery of therapeutic agents to the brain. It will emphasize the value of advanced imaging to guide neurointerventions and to monitor drug pharmacokinetics from the moment of delivery through initial biodistribution and subsequent clearance from the CNS. This Topic also aims to review current neurointerventions with their particular strengths and weaknesses. Finally, it will put a spotlight on the novel techniques and interventional possibilities that will emerge within the next years.
Topics include:
A. Intra-arterial approaches for treatment of stroke, neoplasms and other neurological disorders;
B. Old dog, new tricks: ultrasound for neurointerventional strategies;
C. Biomaterials and Nanotechnologies in neurointervetions;
D. Animal modelling for advanced neurointerventions.
Keywords: Neurointervention, Imaging-Guided, Neurooncology, Drug and Cell Delivery, Blood Brain Barrier, Translational Research
Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
