About this Research Topic
The aim of this Research Topic is to collect recent development in titanium alloys and TMCs (e.g. design, manufacturing, characterization, structure, mechanical properties) and novel application of titanium alloys and TMCs (e.g. space-vehicle application, biomedicine application). This Research Topic welcomes the submission of original research, state-of-the-art review, and perspectives on the recent developments in titanium alloys and TMCs. Suggested contributions may include, but are not limited to:
(a) Design and preparation of novel titanium alloys and TMCs;
(b) Novel characterization methods on structure and mechanical properties of titanium alloys and TMCs, e.g. in-situ TEM, synchrotron radiation, high energy radiation, neutron diffraction;
(c) Novel manufacturing methods on titanium alloys and TMCs, e.g., Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), Selected Laser Melting (SLM);
(d) Modification on the mechanical properties of titanium alloys and TMCs, e.g. surface treatment, heat treatment, electromagnetic processing;
(e) Simulation and calculation on the microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium alloys and TMCs, e.g. finite element analysis, Matlab simulation;
(f) New insights and novel application of titanium alloys and TMCs, e.g. space vehicle application, biomedicine application, the future development.
Besides the above suggested themes, other original research closely related to titanium alloys and TMCs is also highly welcome.
