About this Research Topic
Aside from device applications, remarkably, some engineered nanomaterials (with functionalized molecules containing different chemical groups) can be used as nanomedicines for antitumor agents and antibacterial agents. Therefore, experimental and theoretical studies investigating bio-nano interactions will facilitate and optimize the design of nanomaterials in biomedical applications, and thus are urgently in demand.
In this Research Topic, authors are welcome to investigate interactions between various nanomaterials and biological molecules, and to elucidate possible molecular mechanisms of selected/designed nanomaterials in biomedical applications, such as:
1) Solid-state nanopore based DNA/protein analyses
2) Nano-electrode sensing of biomolecules
3) Interactions between 2D materials and biomolecules
4) Protein function inhibition by bound nanoparticles
5) Interactions between nanoparticles and cell membranes
6) Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in biological environments
