Frontiers and Kristianstad University form open access publishing agreement

Kristianstad University (Högskolan Kristianstad) supports their authors in publishing open access. As part of this support, eligible authors from the Kristianstad University will benefit from a 10% discount under the terms of the Sweden Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement. Eligible authors are corresponding authors of a given article affiliated with Kristianstad University. Information for authors To submit your article under this institutional agreement, it is recommended you submit with an email domain affiliated to your institution. When submitting your article, please select ‘Kristianstad University’ under the Institutional Agreements menu in the invoice section. Frontiers will then verify your affiliation with Kristianstad University, and if confirmed, a 10% discount will be applied. The discounted invoice will be sent to you via the university. Kristiania University College forms open access publishing agreement with Frontiers  

   Kristiania University College supports their authors in publishing open access. As part of this support, Kristiania University College has joined the Sikt Open Access Publishing Framework Agreement, allowing their eligible authors to benefit from a 10% discount for all eligible articles. Eligible authors are corresponding authors affiliated with Kristiania University College. Information for authors: To submit your article under this institutional agreement, please select ‘Kristiania University College’ as institutional payer in the invoice section when submitting your article. The publishing agreement between Kristiania University College and Frontiers gives the author a 10% discount on the publication fee (APC / Article Processing Charges). University of York forms publishing agreement with Frontiers – JISC national open access deal 

We would like to announce that the University of York has joined the national open access deal agreed between Jisc Collections and Frontiers.  This landmark deal provides a simplified and streamlined route to open access publishing for researchers in the UK, who publish 7% of the world’s research.    This institutional agreement means that eligible University of York researchers may publish in any Frontiers journal at no cost to them and with a simplified process.

Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development forms publishing agreement with Frontiers

Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde) has formed an institutional membership agreement for open access publishing with Frontiers. The institutional agreement means that eligible researchers will benefit from a streamlined invoicing process, managed directly between Frontiers and the Open Access team at the Library of the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. The University Library at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development supports its researchers in making their research more widely available. This agreement will further encourage Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development researchers to publish open access, increasing the volume of research openly available. UK universities renew national open access deal with Frontiers

Researchers from over 160 UK universities will continue to benefit from a simplified and streamlined route to open access publishing, thanks to the renewal of JISC collections’ partnership with gold open access publisher Frontiers.  The initial partnership with JISC, which undertakes negotiations and licensing for digital content agreements on behalf of UK universities, was first agreed in September 2019. It has been a landmark deal for researchers, furthering access to open science in the UK.  Under the renewed deal, which runs from 1 January to 31 December 2023, JISC member universities retain control of funding eligibility and benefit from a 10% national discount rate on publication costs. Dedicated account managers ensure a personalized customer experience.  Researchers affiliated with participating organizations can access personalized dashboards for engagement monitoring, collaborative peer-review and enhanced dissemination tools.  Ronald Buitenhuis, head of institutional partnerships at Frontiers, said: “We are delighted to further our partnership with JISC Collections and support open science in the UK. Aerospace Research Communications publishes first article with Frontiers

Aerospace Research Communications (ARC), the official journal of Zhejiang University Press (ZUP), has published its first article with its new gold open access publishing partner Frontiers.   Image credit: Frontiers ARC focuses on original research and review articles related to all fields of aerospace research, in both theory and practice. The scope of the journal is comprehensive, covering research achievements in flight vehicles, propulsion systems and experimental methods, including fluid mechanics, flight mechanics, solid mechanics, vehicle conceptual design, avionics, control, material engineering and mechanical manufacturing.   The journal’s first article in partnership with Frontiers explores recent progress in the application of machine learning technology in the field  —  currently a hot topic in aerospace science and technology.  ARC’s editor in chief Yao Zheng said: “The publication of ARC’s first article marks the beginning of the journal’s role as an important academic platform for international aerospace researchers’ communication and collaboration. It is also a landmark event for ZUP’s international publishing strategy as they co-operate on a publishing partnership with Frontiers for the first time. Frontiers announces new partnership agreement with FIIBAP

Spanish funding body Foundation for Biosanitary Research and Innovation in Primary Care (FIIBAP) has entered into a new partnership agreement with gold open access publisher Frontiers.    The agreement, which was finalized in December 2022, supports FIIBAP’s mission to promote research and innovation in the field of primary healthcare. Grantees supported by the Foundation will have their open access publishing charges covered under the terms of the partnership and will also benefit from engagement with global level experts as part of Frontiers’ collaborative review process.  Jaime Barrio Cortes, clinician and researcher at FIIBAP said: “we are very happy to enter into this agreement with Frontiers. We recognize the opportunities that it will open up for our grantees, as well enabling our foundation to align with Horizon requirements.”  This new partnership further cements the Spanish research community’s commitment to open access and builds on existing agreements between Frontiers and other recent partners in Spain, including Consortium of Catalan University Services (Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya, CSUC), University of León and the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC).  Ronald Buitenhuis, head of institutional partnerships at Frontiers said: “we are delighted to welcome FIIBAP into this new partnership. Frontiers partners with World Economic Forum

Frontiers has entered into a new partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF). The gold open access publisher will join the WEF as a platform partner, formalizing a longstanding collaborative relationship between the two organizations.  Photo credit: World Economic Forum As part of the new agreement, Frontiers will join the WEF’s Centre for New Society and Economy and will champion open science across the network. Science platform Frontiers at the World Science Forum in Cape Town

Inaugurated in 2003, the World Science Forum series fosters and maintains a dialogue between the scientific community, society, policymakers, and industry. Arriving from over 100 countries, around a thousand leading scientists, decision-makers from the world of politics, industry, representatives of civil society, and the media express their views on the new challenges facing science in the 21st century.   In December, the World Science Forum 2022 was hosted in Cape Town under the theme “Science for Social Justice”. Taking place in Africa for the first time, the gathering deliberated on the social and economic relevance, influence, and responsibilities of science and covered the topics like climate change, science for human dignity, the Sustainable Development Goals, science for Africa, and science diplomacy.
