Inheritance and Development of Traditional Martial Arts under the Perspective of Group Dynamics: A Case Study of Ma's Tongbei Martial Arts

This study primarily utilizes ethnographic research methods to explore the inheritance and development of Ma's Tongbei martial arts in the modern context from the perspective of group dynamics. The article emphasizes the crucial role of group cohesion in maintaining the stability of martial arts styles and facilitating their development. The article analyzes the group structural characteristics of Ma's Tongbei martial arts, revealing its unique social system's internal complex social relationships and norms, as well as the central position of the master-disciple relationship. Additionally, the article discusses how group cohesion is transformed into a driving force for the development of the style, including inspiring members to actively learn and pass on traditional skills, and encouraging innovation under the concept of "holistic integration and versatility in martial arts" to keep Tongbei vibrant and adapt to the needs of modern society.Through the analysis of the group dynamics of Ma's Tongbei martial arts, this article reveals the deep principles of the traditional martial arts inheritance mechanism, providing important references and inspiration for modern martial arts education. It also points out potential directions for future research, including the study of martial arts group dynamics in cross-cultural contexts, and the exploration of interactions and group dynamics between different martial arts styles, aiming to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the modern inheritance of traditional martial arts.
