The influence of parental involvement on students' math performance: a meta-analysis

    Parental involvement is considered to affect the academic performance of students. However, there is a lack of current research on the influence parental involvement has on the math performance of students. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence parental involvement has on this. 25 related articles that were published between 2015 and 2024 were included, with a total of 42 effect sizes, and statistical integration was conducted through meta-analysis. The research results found parental involvement to have a significantly positive influence on the math performance of students. The analysis of moderating variables found participant, involvement type, grade level, geographical region, and evaluation content to all have moderating effects. Finally, the research findings were discussed and suggestions were provided for parents to be effectively involved in the mathematical learning of students.
