Research has shown that stress, maturation, training load, and recovery tend to impact the performance and health of athletes at all ages; furthermore, performance and physiological adaptations can be improved through environmental interventions. As the research in sports science is still scarce on this topic, we would like to engage researchers to investigate this stimulus–performance–adaptations relationship in different contexts and environments, with the aim of expanding our knowledge and implications for practice.
We invite papers describing the following:
• Physiological responses to FITT-VP (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type, Volume and Progression) in athletes
• Metabolic changes according to sports training of various intensities
• Physical effort, endurance, strength, speed, and physiological reactions
• New training strategies and/or supplementation programs for improving body composition and sports performance
Authors are welcome to publish original, high-quality articles, as well as narrative and systematic reviews and meta-analyses with particular regard to the understanding of the physiological relationship between Physical Stimulus-Performance-Adaptation.
