Building high-quality living space and promoting the construction of livable, resilient and green new smart cities have become a development trend. Using the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, spatial remote sensing, geographic information, urban intelligent computing to integrate the new generation of information technology and vitalize digital resources, we will closely link human beings with the urban environment, and provide more intelligent, accurate and dynamic environmental management and decision support for cities. Smart cities focus on building new infrastructure, digital government and digital society, and take open sharing of public data as a breakthrough, to achieve digital resource vitalization and improve urban operation efficiency by building smart city services. To improve the livability of cities and make people's lives more comfortable and convenient, smart cities can improve the public service capacity and the level of municipal public facilities by scientifically vitalizing urban public resources, so that urban functions can better meet the needs of people's lives. To improve the resilience of the city and the impact resistance of the urban environment, smart cities provide safeguard services for the normal operation of the city by focusing on major risk prevention and control. In addition, by providing intelligent services, smart cities can promote the urban operation mode of forming a green and low-carbon cycle, promote the harmonious coexistence between people and the environment, and finally realize the construction of a green city.
Considering the above observation, in this research topic, we are looking for original works of digital resource vitalization and smart city services related to livable environment, safety and efficiency, green and low carbon, to support more effective and efficient urban governance and service evaluation. Urban services are usually integrated from different departments that support vertical applications, which require new solutions to integrate them and evaluate their effectiveness. The goal of this research topic is to provide a place for researchers from academia or industry to display their latest research results and solutions, to redesign the smart city architecture and service evaluation system, and possibly reveal new and convincing use cases.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to:
• Smart City Platform and Service Architecture;
• Urban Intelligent Computing and Optimization;
• Urban Comprehensive Perception and Digital Twin;
• Urban Remote Sensing and Environmental Data Visualization;
• New Urban Infrastructure;
• Low Carbon and Sustainable Development;
• Ecological Livability and Intelligent Services;
