The biannual conference of the International Society for Plant Molecular Farming (ISPMF) is one of the major events for the exchange and presentation of cutting-edge ideas and developments in the area of molecular farming with participants from academia and industry from all five continents. This Research Topic will be a collection of the newest advances presented during the 4th ISPMF virtual Conference, on September 28-29th 2021 (see link
here) and will thus reflect the state-of-the-art developments in the field.
The theme of this Research Topic will be plant molecular farming. The research results in this field are often scattered in various journals depending on the aspect of the product development pipeline they cover. The broad range of topics in the field stretch from gene design, novel target molecules and improved product accumulation in the biomass, over to innovative purification strategies, and all the way to the latest pre-clinical and clinical trials.
