This Research Topic collects papers on genetics to be presented at BGRS\SB-2018 conference in Novosibirsk, Russia. Since 1998, the conference series BGRS\SB has been held every two years to cover interdisciplinary fields of modern bioinformatics, computer system biology and applications in biomedicine, pharmacology, bioengineering, biotechnology, as well as evolutionary genetics and genomics. This biannual Conference takes place in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok. This year, Multiconference BGRS\SB-2018 will include several symposia on medicine, neurobiology, bioinformatics and systems biology. The current collection continues the series of post-conference Research Topics presenting the highlights from the set of meetings on bioinformatics and systems biology held in Novosibirsk in recent years.
