On occasion of the Abcam conference "Adult neurogenesis - Structure and Function", held in Frauenchiemsee, Germany, May 27-30, 2010 there will be a Research Topic of Frontiers in Neurogenesis. The idea is to bring together original papers and reviews that deal with the question how new neurons in the adult brain contribute to function. Emphasis lies on original research but ideas for good reviews are welcome. Submissions can cover any aspect, be it molecular, cellular, anatomical, computational or behavioral. Ideal are studies bridging between different aspects. A group of authors interested in doing so would together write an editorial trying to integrate the ideas voiced at the meeting and in the submitted articles. The call for submissions is open to everybody in the field and not limited to the participants of the meeting.
