At any given point during an organism’s life, experiences can profoundly shape the neuroplastic brain. Starting during gestation and continuing throughout life, experiences can have profound and enduring effects on numerous neural regions that contribute significantly to cognition, regulation of emotions, and stress regulation, etc. This Research Topic focuses on advances in understanding to what extent experiences influence neuroplasticity across the lifespan. Additionally, this Research Topic aims to highlight recent efforts in identifying factors that may confer resilience to or pose a risk for the development of neuropsychiatric disorders.
We welcome all research articles, review papers, brief communications, and commentary on topics related to this Research Topic.
