This research topic is a tribute to Michael Linderman (1956-2016), an enterpreneur, engineer and neuroscientist known for his works on bioelectrical technologies, diagnostics methods and internet systems. We invite contributions dealing with technologies where bioelectrical recordings (e.g. EMG, EEG, fNIRS) are utilized to gain understanding of the neural mechanisms, develop diagnostics and treatment approaches, and create human-machine interfaces. Examples of such technologies include brain-machine interfaces, myoelectrical interfaces, kinesiology systems for measuring tremor and postural reactions and videotracking systems for analyzing movements. Studies conducted in both humans and animals are invited. Both original-research and review articles will be considered.
